StoryThe BRA Group is an industry-exclusive, networking organization for professional women. The BRA Group was founded in 1992 to bring together women who own their own businesses for the purpose of generating referrals and sharing accomplishments. Membership benefits include monthly lunches and discounts on services and products from participating members.
BRA stands for Business Referral Alliance. We meet on the fourth Wednesday of the month, January through September, from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM at YaYa's Bistro in Overland Park, KS. During the meetings, each member is alloted a few minutes to brag about their referrals from the group and any other announcements they may have. Members acknowledge referrals from within the group by placing money in a bra. The bra full of money is a visual representation of the success of the group at giving referrals and supporting one another. The monies are used to fund group activities including a member's only pre-holiday party in October; otherwise this is a non-profit organization.
